Yay! I’m going to NYC the first weekend in September. I’ve been there many times before, but I’ve never been to NYC completely on my own. In a way, it feels like going to a new city. I’ll very likely be going to parts of NYC I’ve never been in before. I don’t want to plan out where I’m going too much, because I think that you discover the best stuff when you’re “getting lost.” I do know that I’d like to visit the highline and sweetiepie. Oh, and I really want to go to topshop and visit some unique boutiques. Is there somewhere I must go? Your favorite place?
I’m taking suggestions, so please leave some tips in the comments area.

I can write you a novel…
for art: MOMA, photos- the ICP {international center for photography- 43rd and 6th ave}, you must see the Richard Avedon exhibit there!
for shopping: West Village, Soho {for topshop and everything else…just go up and down the streets there…it’s totally endless!} Also check out the flea markets- outdoor and indoor in the 20s between 5th and 6th. You can find some really unusual beautiful things & it’s so much fun to peruse for DIY ideas.
for eats: when you visit highline, you must go to Chelsea Market. It’s attached to the end of the HL and is home to The Food Network & there are TONS of amazing shops on the first floor to get all specialty food…yum. My favorite food is brunch food- try 5 Points downtown, Cookshop in Chelsea & The Clinton Bakery {Lower East Side}.
Also check out Union Square on the weekends for amazing farmer’s market stands…so wonderful!
