{friday finds: fluxus}

I think I may have mentioned that I am launching an all fashion blog soon. When I do, I’ve decided that I’ll be featuring a hunt for the most perfect wardrobe staples {the perfect tee, the perfect jeans, etc.} For now, I have a reigning champion in the tee category: Fluxus.

Holy crap, these shirts are the most comfortable things on the planet. I came across two of them at Bloomies a few weeks ago. I’ve never been huge on oversized or boyfriend style tees on me, other than American Apparel Unisex. I’m not a rail, quite the opposite, so I always found that look hard to work with. I need tops with a good cut and most “boyfriend” tees aren’t cut very well. I couldn’t resist the cobweb thin fabric of the shirt you see in my pictures, so I went ahead and tried a two on. Thank goodness I didn’t resist! I ended up buying this top and a pocket tee that looks and feels like I’ve lived in it for years.

Unfortunately, I have not gotten a lookbook or found out if they will be launching a men’s line. {They seem to be switching PR representation, but if I do get something you’ll be sure to see a post.}

So, you want some of this? You are in luck. They are having an end of season sale with 50% off most of their stock. Dresses, skirts, leggings, vests, and of course, perfect tees! Go. NOW!

{friday finds: yummy!}

I know this might sound odd, but I’ve never eaten a candied apple. I’ve never really had the desire to do so. That is, until I saw these lovely creations. They are so fun looking that I’m tempted to order one. I think they’d be lovely for a whimsical little party, too. {And we all know how much I adore parties.}

More yummy goodness at Double Dipped Sweets.

{friday finds: shop with me?}

I’ve been a shopping mood. I spent too much last month, so I’m trying to keep my purchases on the inexpensive side. Thankfully, J.Crew had an extra 20% off yesterday, and I got to use my Gilt credit on an Edun top. Oh, then I pre-ordered the shoes mentioned in the previous post. I still haven’t had enough of a fix yet. I think I shall have to hit up TopShop and my rockstar affiliate, Mod Cloth. {You see that FTC? Full disclosure.}

Want to shop with me? Good. Let’s go.

Strata Dress

I think this dress is beyond precious and it would go amazingly well with those shoes I just got.

The Breathless Dress in Midnight
{The Breathless Dress in Midnight $117.99}

Hmm, perhaps with a leather jacket or a gray 3/4 length sleeve jacket cinched at the waist. {Or, of course, by itself.}

Layer Cake Dress
{Mod Cloth Layer Cake Dress – $69.99}

So sweet and could go from day to night easily. Tiered dresses often result in a loss of a defined waist, but the black band takes care of that.

{TopShop Sequined Bolero – $110}

If you read {iStyle} or kept track of the collections you would know why I shouldn’t have to convince you to buy this one!

These should all transition into fall, so jump on them now!

{friday finds: upcoming trends}

This morning over at {iStyle}, I covered my predictions for emerging and continuing trends for Fall/Winter 2009. Stop by, and see what you should be adding to your wardrobe! Two of the trends offer the opportunity for DIY projects and/or are easily attained starting now: embellished shoes and embellished legwear.

This shoe by Jeffrey Campbell is a sweeter take on the ruffled shoes seen on the runway this season. It comes in black, nude, and gold. I pre-ordered my pair yesterday through here. You can also take the opportunity to refresh an old pair of shoes by adding draped fabric, as seen in the third shoe in the image at the top of this post. Or, you could add some studs or chains to a pair of your shoes.

I first saw this DIY embellished tight tutorial presented through A Cup of Jo. I’d love to try this myself, but it is far too hot here in South Florida to do this anytime soon. When I do, I’ll be sure to post up pictures. {You can also find a few examples of adorned legs from the RTW collections here.}

Then there are these uncommon tights, which are the work of Gal Stern. I found them on the fabulous Bleach Black blog. I think it takes some confidence in your style to wear these, but they look incredibly fun. Now, unless you want to handpaint your tights, I don’t suggest turning these into a DIY project; just order a pair instead.

Overall, you’ll notice a mix of glam and tough accessories this fall, many of which you can {thankfully} DIY or acquire inexpensively. Now go visit {iStyle}!

{friday finds: pet treats}

As you all know, I love my little Lola. She’s quite tiny, so I try to be sensitive to what she consumes. My sister, Ines, is quite the gourmet for both humans and animals. She’s also animal obsessed. {Seriously, I’m afraid that one day I’ll have to bail her out for breaking into some lab that tests on animals or something.} I’ve asked her to teach me how to make some yummy homemade treats for Lola, but until then, I went looking on the web for alternatives. Of course, I found a few lovely treats on Etsy, the place for all things handmade. They look lovely. I think I may order a few and let Lola and Romeo {my mom’s dog} try them out.

{Double Decker Peanut Butter Cookie}

Don’t they look scrumptious?
