Is there a battle of the french going on? Audrey Tatou for Chanel v. Marion Cotillard for Dior? Both ladies have been reunited with the directors that brought them their biggest film success. {Dahal directed Marion in La Vie En Rose.} Chanel released a “making of” video to hype up the release of the new Chanel No. 5 campaign, and now Dior is twittering clues daily and released a trailer to …. what? To a short film? The only difference in tactics is that Dior has embraced the idea of having the whole thing blogged, whereas Chanel did not.

You can buy them and do it yourself, here. {The munchkin is already dreaming of it.} And, before you freak out, they are biodegradable and flame retardant.
Have a beautiful day!!!

{klimt comes to life}
For quite sometime, I have been wanting to fill my room with personal reinterpretations of iconic artworks. I like art and photographs to be personal and unique in a home, so if it isn’t an original or limited edition of a work, I prefer not to have it on my walls. I especially wanted to do a series of Klimt portraits with friends in them. These images below are quite the inspiration to follow through with my little project, don’t you think?

Estoy enamorada! Klimt is an all time favorite of mine, especially his secessionist period. I love that they were reinterpreted so well.

{ms. jenn lives for a day}
Well, at least I’d like to live like that glam for a day. Wait, who am I kidding, sometimes I come close, minus the juggling of 3 men. {I do have four fur throws in my bedroom!} Seriously now, I adore Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. The cocktail party, the clothes, Delysia’s flat, Lee Pace’s character {swoon}, the music, all that fur and gold leafing…did I mention Lee Pace’s character is hot? I’m such a sucker for a sweet and tough guy. I’m totally done for if he doesn’t mind getting in a fight when called for. Ok, I’m off topic here. My two favorite things from the movie, which I shall share here, are the scene where they sing “If I didn’t care” and the decor.
How I adore this song! Unfortunately, I could not find the video online without Chinese subtitles, since the intellectual property police probably threatened everyone who’d ever even thought of putting it up.

{5 rules}
I love 5 rules for life. I find it intriguing to see the different takes on how to live life and seeing the similarities, too. A few excerpts from my favorite lists {click author to see entire list}:
“You can’t choose who you are, but you can choose how to be who you are.
Learn to love the person you are in this life and celebrate it. There is only one person you can be, so you might as well be that person to the best of your ability.” – Dr. Isabel Joely Black
“It is what you do when no one is around that matters.
What you do when no one is around creates a sense of character, pride, accomplishment, and ultimately satisfaction.” – Ron Calzolari
“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t…you’re right.
Nothing in the real world materializes until you’ve thought about it first! You create your own reality in this existence by having seen and thought about it in your mind’s eye before it ever comes into being …” – Barry Sigismondi
And, I agree with everything on Joanne Koh’s list.
1.) Forgive but never forget.
To forgive others is to forgive yourself. Forgiving is also the first step to letting go of whatever emotions cloud your vision for a better future. Forgiving is necessary while forgetting is not because you have to remember the lessons you learn and not succumb to the same mistakes again.
2.) Face your sorrows.
Don’t deny and run away from pain, anger, sadness, or hurt. It’s alright to cry because you realize and relieve yourself of the bottled up feelings that you can’t put into words. I force myself to cry when I feel sad and I always feel better after jerking out buckets of tears and wailing at the top of my voice. Bottling up emotions will only lead to depression and it can be dangerous if not handled properly. Nobody is strong all the time – admit your weaknesses.
3.) Love yourself.
If you do not learn to love yourself you will never have the capability to love others; you need to know how to love yourself so you know what hurts. Always love yourself – it is the only path to learn to love others.
4.) Be solitary.
Everyone needs space and time alone. When you spend time with yourself you are able to realize more about your surroundings and take notice of every detail. Take some time alone and get out to smell the roses. Be courageous to boot loneliness out of your life and embrace being independent.
5.) Be selfless.
Nobody is perfect and selfishness exists in everyone – it’s just a matter of how deep one can go. But you can be the one that is near perfect. Be kind and help those less fortunate; happiness cannot be bought with money but can be achieved through lending a helping hand.

{oh happy day!}
I love planning outings and parties. If you let my imagination run wild, I’ll come up with all sorts of ways to entertain. However, I must admit, this is not something that had occurred to me yet. {Now that I’ve seen it, I’ll just to do it.}
These lucky party guests were surprised with a scavenger hunt that ended with cupcakes and a color fight. Screw work, let’s go do that instead. Thinking of having a color fight, too? You can find the Holi Gulal colors online or at your local Indian store. If you’re really crafty, you can make your own natural powders from here. {Click on colors for instructions.}
Oh, almost forgot. There’s another color fight at the end of this Regina Spector video.
