I want to see cherry blossoms. Right. This. Moment. I mean now. Ughhhhh why can’t Florida have a spring full of flowers? Last year, I loved the pictures of the blossoms so much that less than a week later Munchkin and Mommy {that would be me, folks} were on a plane to D.C. with a reservation at the Mandarin. Oh well, next year!

*Just a note, if you ever go to see the blossoms check out if there are any deals at the Mandarin. The hotel is closest to the mecca of the blossoms. Hotels in Washington D.C. can be stupidly expensive, but I scored the 5 star Mandarin for the same price as 3 and 4 star hotels that were located closer to the White House and museums.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if things like this happened more often?

This brought me such sheer joy that I actually had tears in my eyes. It’s random acts like these that bring the biggest smile to my face, and I’m guessing to yours, too. If this performance had been expected, it would not have had the same effect on the audience or the performers. The same applies to the beautiful and kind things we do. When we suprise someone, truly at random, it brings us greater joy, too. So, perhaps you will perform a little random act of kindness and beauty? {If you do, please e-mail me or post it!}

I must confess. I have a blogger girl crush.

If you don’t know already, Louise is the author of the blog Pandora. The blog, which is extremely stylish and intelligent, is a recent favorite of mine. I’ve seen her shot by Garance and Scott, but was somehow blatantly unaware of her wonderful blog… until about a week ago. {Oh the shame!}

I adore her style. Especially the way she pulls off wearing “geek chic” glasses. Perfect mix of sexy, sweet, and lady-like, no?

I think after seeing these, I want bangs again. {Le Sigh…}

I had a beautiful day yesterday. Actually, I had a beautiful weekend…much needed after a downer of a week. Visited the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens on Saturday. Somehow, I was able to snap some pictures with dog, munchkin, handbag, hand fan, and parasol in tow. {“What? Hand fan and parasol!” Yes, I frequently carry one or both. It’s Florida. 94 degrees in April. Pretty and sweet way to stay cool, no?}

I followed that act by a mini shoe-shopping-spree (see post below). On Sunday morning, munchkin and I headed over to The Fresh Market to feed his Lorina addiction. I decided to beautify my day in the simplest way: with flowers. Picked up a tiny violet lollipop, some edible flowers and other deliciousness. Eating beautifully is such a simple pleasure, not enjoyed often enough. I’ll have to try harder!

I bought 5 pairs of shoes this weekend, and while I did, I sang this song. If you feel bummed or bored, go buy a new pair of cute shoes (preferably colorful) and sing this song. I promise you, this is guaranteed to make you happy. Just make sure the shoes are comfortable, otherwise you’ll be singing a whole different song…

{bits of beauty everywhere}

a favorite sunset I got to watch last year

Finding things that are beautiful everyday. You have to decide to look for them; they won’t always jump up in your face. I guess that’s what this blog is going to be about. This is my place to share with you the bits of beauty I find. Maybe even things that just make life beautiful… So, if something ridiculous makes you laugh, to me that is beautiful and therefore qualifies. Or, if something is sad and provokes emotion, making you appreciate life a little bit more, well then that qualifies, too.

*I can be sporadic, but faithful.
*I’m a little bit nuts.
So, while there might be a storm of posts one day, there may not be anything for a few days. There will be some things that I know, only I will find funny or appealing, but I’ll take my chances.
